Development and Implementation of Flaxseed Extract and Fiber as Natural Products Enabling the Reduction of Food Additives Used in the Food Industry
REGIS sp. z o.o. has received a grant from the European Union for the project “Development and implementation of flaxseed extract and fiber as natural products enabling the reduction of food additives used in the food industry.”
The project aims to strengthen the company’s competitiveness by developing and implementing globally scalable product innovations. It includes an R&D module and an innovation implementation module.
Within the R&D module, we plan to conduct industrial research and development work, resulting in:
The project’s products will be significantly enhanced compared to the most common and widely used functional food additives—particularly in terms of texture, gel strength and elasticity, as well as emulsion hardness and stability (extract), and water/oil absorption and emulsion hardness (fiber). Additionally, they will feature a natural profile, the possibility of production under Polish conditions, and a zero‑waste manufacturing technology.
As part of the innovation implementation module, we plan to carry out an investment that includes adapting production and storage areas to accommodate the new technologies and equipping them with the necessary fixedassets (14 units).
Upon completion of the project, we will have the full results of the R&D work and the required production infrastructure to begin manufacturing and sales of the new products. The product innovations will be used in functionalblends and marinades produced by REGIS sp. z o.o. Their recipients will include: meat product manufacturers, plant‑based product manufacturers, and producers of ready meals, marinated meats, and soups.

REGIS, a leader in delivering technological solutions for the food industry, is implementing a deployment project based on R&D results concerning the production of natural meat flavors. As part of this initiative, the company willpurchase and install a new technological line, as well as fixed assets and intangible assets, enabling full‑scale production of innovative flavors and spice blends derived from meat raw materials—featuring enhanced sensory properties and increased nutritional value.
The scope of the project includes the purchase and commissioning of a dedicated technological line comprising a dryer with a transport system, installation components, a mixer, warehouse racks with lifting platforms, as well as laboratory equipment and intangible assets necessary for quality control throughout the entire production process.
The products developed under the project will be directed to manufacturers of meat products, ready meals, soups, and sauces — particularly those operating in the clean label segment, seeking high‑quality solutions free from synthetic additives, monosodium glut mate, and with reduced salt content.
The primary goal and key outcome ofthe project is the implementation of innovative, natural meat‑based seasoning and flavor blends that respond to the growing consumer demand for taste, quality, and naturalness of food. The project also includes the adoption of an innovative production process that is new to the market and enables the efficient manufacturing of these blends.
The project will contribute to the technological and organizational development of REGIS, as well as strengthen its competitive position. Additionally, the initiative includes the creation of two new jobs.

The objective of the project is to develop and apply biorefinery concepts based on the highest possible flexibility and simplicity in handling diverse raw materials originating from agricultural holdings and processing industries of various scales. The project focuses on maximising the utilisation of by‑products—including rapeseed cake, oat bran, and barley bran—for the production of food‑grade protein and dietary fiber. It also includes characterisation of the obtained raw materials and products from their fractionation, assessment of biological activity, and analysis of functional and sensory properties to determine their application potential in various food systems. The projectwill additionally examine possibilities for extending the developed biorefinery concept to other waste materials and identify potential uses of the resulting protein and fiber fractions in the production of innovative foods.
The planned outcomes of the project include:
Total project value: 135,408.00 PLN
European Funds contribution: 87,360.00 PLN

The aim of the project is to develop, at laboratory scale, the first Polish natural aromatic substances derived from meat raw materials (meat extracts and hydrolysates), and subsequently to test the developed productiontechnology and formulations at technical scale, including experimental application in food products.
The planned outcomes of the project include, among others:
Total project value: 13,224,452.53 PLN
Co‑financing from the European Regional Development Fund: 7,912,682.20 PLN

Project objective:
The aim of the project is to develop the foundations for creating and preparing for implementation innovative products intended for consumers following an exclusively plant‑based (vegan) diet. These products will imitatetraditional meat products while offering reduced allergenicity and enhanced functional properties.
Project outcome:
Regis intends to direct its new range of meat analogues to consumers who are limiting their intake of meat products, while using exclusively plant‑based raw materials to develop products that meet the requirements of anenriched vegan diet. The technologies and seasoning blends developed for vegan products will be offered to food manufacturers who, following the example of Western companies, wish to include high‑quality vegan products in their portfolios.
